Bush’s Pet Foods Pty Ltd (FMCG)

The Bush’s Pet Foods Group of Companies own and operate 5 manufacturing sites across NSW, Country Victoria and SE Queensland, employing more than 400 hundred staff.

HRM Consulting established their ‘Start Up’ HR Division that provided best practice human resources policies and practices to help the growth and stability of the businesses, but also to maintain a safe, complaint and harmonious workplace.

The major programs we introduced were:
  • Workplace Relations
  • OH&S
  • Recruitment & Selection
  • Policy Development
  • Organisational Design (following the acquisition of new plants)
  • Management Development

Whilst contracted to Bush’s we were able to achieve a number of great results that not only benefited the Company but its people as well.

Some of our achievements:
  • minimising workplace injuries, reducing Workers Compensation premiums
  • improved Industrial Relations on all sites, reducing lost productivity
  • implementing an effective Remuneration and Benefits program

Volcom Australia

Volcom Australia is a vibrant Production, Sales and Distribution business providing clothing and accessories to the youth market (Surf, Skate and Snowboard). Volcom is a well run medium sized organisation that needed project management HR services to assist them with their day to day operations.

Not having a defined HR Department, we were asked to assist the management team ensure they properly supported and rewarded their team.

Some of the services provided included:
  • Industrial Relations, regarding contract management and Union negotiations
  • Organisational Design to help them combat the fickle nature of the Fashion Industry
  • OH&S training and programs to ensure the workplace is a safe place to be

Garema Lighting

Garema Lighting Warehouse owns and operates 'Lights for You' retail stores in addition to importing and distributing light fittings and fixtures.  Lights for You operate 5 stores in and around the Sydney metropolitan area.

Although the group is comparatively small, the owners appreciated the need to have effective HR practices throughout its operations, and as such we were able to provide them a number of programs designed to ensure they maintained a good working environment.

These programs included:
  • OH&S with regards to safety inspections and audits
  • Salary Administration which provided a tested platform for better than industry wage rates
  • policies and procedures to ensure compliance

    Bluetongue Brewery

    Bluetongue Brewery produces some of the finest boutique beers in its manufacturing plant Newcastle NSW.

    This is a growth business managed by professionals who know how to manufacture Beer, and know that they need help with HR matters.

    To ensure they provide a safe workplace for the production team we conducted workplace safety audits which ensured compliance - but most importantly the team’s wellbeing was maintained.

    ALSTOM

    Alstom project managed the construction of the Tallawarra Power Station. This was a turn key project that required the management of all the technical and administrative functions required on site.
